Background Low-density lipoprotein to high density lipoprotein (LDL/HDL) cholesterol ratio has been reported to predict the risk of many metabolic diseases. However, the association between the LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has not been established. Methods A longitudinal cohort design was adopted in this study; 9767 non-obese subjects without NAFLD were included and analyzed.
